Welcome to The Sunset Inn... People who love the coast find Sunset Beach, North Carolina a truly special place. Our picturesque island has a temperate climate without the brutal extremes of summer or winter. Development in the area is limited and our natural beach is unspoiled and uncrowded, the way nature intended a beach to be. Sunset Beach offers one of the widest beaches on the east coast with white fine grained sand that soothes your senses. Perfectly located between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC, Sunset Beach, NC is conveniently close and yet provides a feeling of “escape from it all.” The quiet comfort of The Sunset Inn overlooks the beautiful saltwater marsh looking out towards the Intracoastal Waterway and is just a five minute walk to the ocean. As the sun rises, some guests may sneak a few more winks. Other will enjoy the pastel colors of morning, strolling along the seashore or just rocking on one of our many porches. The Sunset Inn opened its doors to the beauty of the saltwater marsh and island life in June 2000. The honey-colored wood floors in the entrance and living area shine softly in the light that filters through the large windows. Breakfast is served on a lace-covered table every morning from 8:15 until 10 AM. You may choose to have your morning meal in the living room or in the privacy of your own room. There are 14 rooms, each with a different theme and decor. All rooms have a king-size bed, wet bar, refrigerator, love seat and private screened porch with rockers. The four grand rooms each have a whirlpool tub plus a larger corner porch with rockers and porch swings, robes and IPod docks. The Inn is much larger than your typical historic B&B but has the charm and quaintness of our smaller counterparts. We are unique and encourage you to visit and experience all that we have to offer. We have WiFi for all rooms and in our lobby/breakfast area. Want to just sit and read? Try our living area filled with books, comfort and lots of windows for a sunny and relaxing afternoon. Our living room and lobby area are open until six or seven in the evenings depending on the time of year. Our beautifully landscaped grounds offer yet another place to relax and enjoy the salt air. Rocking chairs and porch swings are plentiful for lazy lounging on our open decks. The Sunset Inn is for all seasons. From your private screened porch, you can enjoy the gentle breeze and the smell of marsh marigolds in autumn. Winter is a time for brilliant blue skies and crisp, clear days. The happy call of shore birds announce spring's rebirth, while summer abounds with lazy days spent on a sugar sand beach wrapped with complete relaxation on your Sunset Beach vacation.
